  • Original Artwork: Order FAQs

A hard black line divides this painting in two. Below it: fire and texture, burnt red and orange pressing against deep blue, dense and physical and close. Above it: something entirely different. Wispy, luminous, almost weightless clouds in pale blue and white, soft brushwork that seems to float free of everything underneath.

"Somewhere Above It" is about the place you go in your mind when you need a moment away from what you're feeling. Not escape, you always come back. But that thin line of black, that deliberate boundary, is the practice of finding stillness even when the ground beneath you is on fire.

This square-format painting has a landscape quality that makes it feel expansive in a room. The contrast between the heavy lower half and the luminous upper half creates a visual tension that holds your attention and rewards it. Part of the "What Today Will Bring" collection.
